Edinburgh Castle

Local historian and FH Account Manager, Iain Brotchie took me on a mad tour of Edinburgh Castle.  Click here for the history of the castle, but suffice it to say, Iain’s knowledge is encyclopedic, covering politics, history, architecture, culture and art appreciation.  The time spent did not do justice to this amazing landmark, but, if I retained half of what Iain told me, I’ll be happy.  The following is a brief slide show of our tour.  Note particularly the arch with a coffin like object in the middle.  That is St. Margert’s Chapel, the oldest building in Ediburgh.  And also Mons Meig, a massive cannon that was so big it could only fire one shot an hour.  The massive cannon balls lie to my right in the picture.
